David de Gea 'could delay Real Madrid move until next summer due to sign-on fee'

Real Madrid reportedly promise to pay David de Gea a €5m (£3.5m) sign-on fee if he delays his move from Manchester United until next summer.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has reportedly been promised a sign-on fee by Real Madrid if he joins the club next summer.

The Spaniard is believed to be keen to make the move to the Bernabeu, but United are so far standing firm in negotiations.

With De Gea having one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, Madrid have told the shot-stopper that they will pay him a €5m (£3.5m) sign-on fee if he waits to join them at the end of the upcoming season, according to Marca.

There have been suggestions that United want defender Sergio Ramos included in a deal that would result in De Gea returning to Spain, but at this time, Madrid are reportedly reluctant to agree.

The possibility of De Gea staying put at United was strengthened further when he was included in the squad that flew to the United States this week for a pre-season tour.
