Alex Ferguson says it is "unlikely" that Samir Nasri will move away from Arsenal to Man Utd this summer.

Samir Nasri is "unlikely" to move to Old Trafford this summer, according to Alex Ferguson.

The 24-year-old Arsenal midfielder has previously been linked to Man Utd with a £20 million bid, although Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is not keen to release one of his key players.

"Nasri, no - I don't think he is coming to United," Ferguson said in a press conference on the club's American pre-season tour. "That is all I can tell you. I think that he has agreed to go somewhere else."

Nasri moved to the Emirates on a deal worth a reported £12 million in 2008 and has a year remaining on his contract. Other potential suitors include Manchester City and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Ferguson confirmed that he is still on the hunt for a replacement for Paul Scholes, who retired at the end of last season.

"How do you replace somebody like Paul Scholes? It's very difficult," he said. "How will we overcome it? Maybe the next few weeks will help us overcome it. Maybe somebody will emerge out of the youth team or one of the young players emerge, and then we carry on."
