Pachuca forward Hirving Lozano has denied suggestions that a move to Manchester United is close to being completed and instead claimed that he "does not know anything" about the Red Devils' rumoured interest.
The Mexican club's owner announced earlier this year that United had made an approach to sign the 20-year-old following a run of 33 goals in 122 appearances.
Lozano recently looked to play down talk of a move away, however, and the youngster has now gone one step further by describing reports of an imminent move to Old Trafford as being false.
"It's nice to hear people talk about a potential move to Manchester United, but it would have been better if it was actually a fact," he told Mexican outlet record.com.mx.
"I don't know anything about United's interest. If the club tell me anything, then we will see, but I don't know anything about it at this stage. I am at Pachuca now and we will see what happens in the future."
Man United's only previous signing from Mexico came in 2010 when Javier Hernandez joined from Guadalajara.
