Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain to join race for Jerome Boateng?

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to join the race to sign Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly identified Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng as a potential summer signing.

Boateng has spent the last seven years at the Allianz Arena, but the Germany international has indicated that he may be willing to take on a new challenge ahead of next season.

Manchester United have allegedly been quoted an asking price of £50m and according to Bild, City and PSG are ready to rival United for the 29-year-old's signature.

Boateng spent the 2010-11 campaign at the Etihad Stadium, but City boss Pep Guardiola has worked with the player at Bayern and it could potentially lead to a reunion.

PSG must fulfil their FFP obligations before spending big this summer, but central defence is a position which Thomas Tuchel must strengthen after being brought in as a replacement for Unai Emery.
