Manchester United could move for Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow during this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow during this summer's transfer window.

David de Gea's contract at Old Trafford has now officially expired, with the Spaniard currently a free agent, so there are only two first-team stoppers at the club in the shape of Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton.

Henderson is widely expected to complete a permanent move to Nottingham Forest, though, and Heaton is not regarded by head coach Erik ten Hag to be a number one.

Man United will continue to hold talks with De Gea over a contract, with discussions between the two parties set to resume after the weekend.

However, the club are currently in talks with Inter Milan over a deal for Andre Onana, suggesting that De Gea is unlikely to return to Old Trafford to continue his career.

If Onana arrives, Man United would still need another goalkeeper, potentially a number two, with Heaton likely to be the third-choice stopper next season.

According to 1908, Bijlow has emerged as a genuine target for the Red Devils, with head coach Ten Hag an admirer of the Netherlands international.

The report claims that Feyenoord are 'doing everything they can' to keep hold of Bijlow, but the club will find it difficult to resist interest from Man United if an official bid arrives.

Bijlow could allegedly 'compete for the number one spot' with Onana at Old Trafford next season, although it remains to be seen whether the Dutchman is prepared to give up being a first-team regular.

The stopper has spent his entire career with Feyenoord, progressing through the various age groups before making his first-team debut in 2016.

Bijlow has represented the Rotterdam club on 119 occasions in all competitions, keeping 45 clean sheets in the process.

During the 2022-23 campaign, the goalkeeper featured on 34 occasions, keeping 15 clean sheets in the process, but he missed a chunk of action due to a broken wrist.

The Dutchman has another two years left to run on his contract with Feyenoord, placing the club in a strong position when it comes to any potential negotiations.

Man United are expected to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea next week, while Porto forward Mehdi Taremi has allegedly emerged as a target for the 20-time English champions.
