Manchester United have reportedly been handed a positive update in their pursuit of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
The Ivorian sees his current deal with the Italian giants expire in the summer, and he has been linked with a move away from the club, with the Red Devils said to be leading the way ahead of the likes of Arsenal.
According to the Daily Mail, the Old Trafford outfit have been handed another boost, as Kessie has turned down I Rossoneri's latest contract offer worth approximately £5.5m per year.
Should the negotiations not be resolved in the coming months, the midfielder would be free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with other clubs after the turn of the year, and the Red Devils are said to be keeping a close eye on his situation ahead of a possible swoop in January to snare him for free in the summer.
The 24-year-old arrived at the San Siro from Atalanta in 2019, and he has made 196 appearances for the 18-time Serie A champions, netting 32 goals and contributing 15 assists, while he has already earned 48 caps for his nation.
