Manchester United are reportedly preparing to open discussions with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and his representatives over a new long-term contract at Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old had appeared almost certain to be leaving the Red Devils in January due to his struggles in the first half of the 2022-23 campaign, but an injury that Diogo Dalot suffered at the 2022 World Cup opened the door for Wan-Bissaka to make his mark.
The right-back made the most of the opportunity and went on to make 34 appearances last season, keeping Dalot out of the side in the latter stages of the campaign.
Dalot has recently signed a new long-term contract, but there has been uncertainty when it comes to Wan-Bissaka's future, with his deal due to expire next summer.
Wan-Bissaka is currently the favourite to start Monday's Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag seemingly favouring his defensive qualities over Dalot's superior ability on the ball.

According to the Daily Mail, Man United are now planning to open discussions with the defender over a new long-term deal at Old Trafford.
The report claims that Wan-Bissaka is in line for an increase on his £100,000-a-week salary, with Ten Hag making it clear that he is part of his plans moving forward.
Crystal Palace had been heavily linked with their former player, while West Ham United were also believed to be showing an interest, but it is now seen as highly unlikely that the defender will depart this summer.
Wan-Bissaka was given the nod at right-back for the FA Cup final at the start of June, while he has also been heavily involved for the Red Devils during pre-season.

The defender has now represented Man United on 160 occasions in all competitions, scoring twice and providing 11 assists, since arriving from Crystal Palace in July 2019.
Wan-Bissaka lost his spot at right-back when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as head coach, with interim manager Ralf Rangnick preferring Dalot in that area of the field.
Dalot was then first choice under Ten Hag last season before picking up an injury while representing Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar.
Man United had been heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong before it became clear that Dalot and Wan-Bissaka would both be staying at the club this summer.
