Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard have reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Nice.
The 29-year-old has remained on the periphery of the United squad this season, being provided with just 197 minutes of football in the Premier League and Champions League.
With less than six months remaining on his contract, there is little prospect of the England international wanting to pen fresh terms at Old Trafford.
As it stands, Newcastle United are the clear favourites to sign the playmaker, but Footmercato claims that Nice are also admirers of Lingard.
However, the report suggests that the Ligue 1 outfit will struggle to match the finances that are on offer at St James' Park, leaving them as outsiders in the race for his signature.
Given Lingard's contract situation, Nice are in a position where they can hold discussions over the coming days if they wish to attempt a late deal.
