Real Betis defender Junior Firpo emerges as a rumoured target for Liverpool as they continue their search for cover at left-back.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to trigger the £45m release clause in Junior Firpo's Real Betis contract.

The Reds are seeking competition at left-back after allowing Alberto Moreno to leave the club earlier this month.

Andrew Robertson is the undisputed first choice in that position, but Spanish outlet Sport claims that Jurgen Klopp has been looking for other options.

Firpo is said to have been identified and the report indicates that Liverpool are now ready to push ahead with a move.

The Spain Under-21s international impressed for Betis last season and has previously been linked with a switch to Barcelona and Manchester United.
