Roma have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic.
The 32-year-old, who played under incoming Roma boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, has made 36 appearances for the Red Devils during the 2020-21 campaign.
The Serbia international is not a regular starter at Old Trafford, though, and it has been suggested that he could leave the Red Devils during this summer's transfer window.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had given his approval for the midfielder to move to Roma in the upcoming market.
However, the report claims that the Italian outfit have rejected the chance to sign him, as they cannot afford to pay the Serbian's wages.
Matic, who is with the Man United squad in Gdansk preparing for Wednesday's Europa League final, has made 157 appearances for the 20-time English champions since arriving from Chelsea in 2017.
