Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has reportedly been offered a deal worth £700,000 a week to move to the Chinese Super League.
The 31-year-old is being sought by Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao and Beijing Guoan as a marquee signing next summer in a move that would propel him into the top five earners in world football.
Rooney currently pockets £300,000 a week at United, where he has two years remaining on his contract, and would be available for a relatively modest transfer fee of £10m.
According to The Mirror, Rooney is unprepared to move in the January transfer window, however, as he is determined to score two more goals to break Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time United scoring record.
Chelsea midfielder Oscar today completed a £400,000-a-week switch to Andre Villas-Boas's Shanghai SIPG, where he is expected to be joined by Carlos Tevez in a £615,000-a-week deal.
