Southampton want £30m for Manchester United target Morgan Schneiderlin?

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will set Manchester United back £30m, according to a report.

Southampton have reportedly informed Manchester United that it will cost them £30m to sign Morgan Schneiderlin.

It is believed that United lodged a bid of around £25m for the France international 10 days ago.

However, that was rejected by the Saints, who insisted that the offer would have to be improved by £5m before they considered opening negotiations, according to Sky Sports News.

The report adds that the Red Devils are yet to respond, having instead opted to pursue other targets, including Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger.

It has been suggested that manager Louis van Gaal may return for Schneiderlin later this summer were they to be unsuccessful in their pursuit of the German.
