Raheem Sterling 'open to Manchester United switch'

A report claims that Raheem Sterling is hoping to join Manchester United in order to work under experienced coach Louis van Gaal.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling would reportedly be willing to jump ship and join Manchester United this summer, should an official approach be made.

The England international is not expected to sign a new contract at Anfield, meaning that the Reds may be forced to cash in on their star asset before his current deal expires in two years' time.

Arch-rivals United are said to be preparing an audacious bid for the 20-year-old which, if accepted, would make Sterling the first player to directly make the move from Liverpool to Old Trafford since 1938.

It is claimed by The Guardian that, although he is concerned about the reception he will receive, the unsettled star is keen to work under Louis van Gaal.

Sterling, who is also rumoured to be wanted by Manchester City and Arsenal, could set the Red Devils back around £45m.
