Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward is allegedly relishing the chance to hold talks with Tottenham Hotspur counterpart Daniel Levy over a deal for Harry Kane.

Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward is reportedly looking forward to holding discussions with Tottenham Hotspur counterpart Daniel Levy over a deal for Harry Kane.

While the two clubs have a frosty working relationship, Kane has been frequently linked with a future move to Old Trafford.

Last week, it was suggested that the England captain was considering his future at the North London outfit given their lack of silverware and progression under Jose Mourinho.

According to the Evening Standard, Woodward has been left encouraged by the reports and is now relishing the opportunity to hold talks with his opposite number at Spurs.

Levy has a reputation of refusing to back down during negotiations, something which may prove crucial if United press ahead with a bid for Kane.

In the past, it has been claimed that Spurs value the 26-year-old in the region of £200m, a fee which is unlikely to be met by United given their desire to strengthen in other areas of the pitch.
