Manchester United interim manager Ryan Giggs has said that Wayne Rooney is at his peak heading into this summer's World Cup.
The 28-year-old has been struggling with injury in recent weeks, but Giggs says that he will be fit to play for England when the tournament kicks off next month.
"Wayne is a top player," BBC Sport quotes Giggs as saying. "He is at a good age. He is probably at the peak of his powers and I know for a fact he can't wait for it.
"Wayne has had a fantastic season. He is going away next week and working on his fitness so this little groin strain has probably helped him because he will be going into it relatively fresh. And the vibrant young players around him can only help."
Rooney has scored 17 goals in the Premier League for United this season.
