Giovani dos Santos: 'We can win World Cup'

Mexico attacker Giovani dos Santos claims that his country can win the World Cup this summer.

Giovani dos Santos has expressed his belief that Mexico can win the World Cup this summer.

The Villarreal forward, who will play a key role for his country in Brazil, was part of the squad that won Olympic Gold in London 2012.

The former Barcelona attacker has claimed that Mexico can draw inspiration from that success to cause a surprise this summer.

"There's people who have a winning mentality. There are people who have grown with different titles, people that have won the Under-17 World Cup [Peru, 2005], the Olympic Gold, and there's a good generation to think about the important titles," he told reporters.

"As the coach said, the goal is to reach the final. In reality, we have to go match by match, but if you asked how far we aspire to go, I think we aspire to be the Champions."

Giovani is one of 10 players in the Mexico World Cup squad that participated in the Olympics.
