Netherlands midfielder Mark van Bommel claims that friendly matches do not exist any more ahead of his side's match with Germany on Tuesday.

Mark van Bommel has claimed that the Netherlands' match against Germany on Tuesday will be anything but a friendly.

The two sides, who many regard as two of the strongest teams heading into Euro 2012, face each other in Hamburg on Tuesday.

"Friendly matches do not exist anymore, certainly not against the Germans," Van Bommel told De Telegraaf. "This is a very special game with a lot of emotion involved. I am really looking forward to it."

The Netherlands played out a goalless draw with Switzerland on Friday.
