Mike Williamson: 'Rolando Aarons is a talent'

Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson admits that he has been impressed with the impact that Rolando Aarons has made at the club.

Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson has said that he has been impressed with the impact that youngster Rolando Aarons has made at the club.

The 18-year-old winger scored his first senior goal for the Magpies in Saturday's dramatic 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace at St James' Park.

Williamson believes that Aarons's natural talent will help him to succeed in the Premier League.

"We're very much excited about Rolando's promise," he told The Chronicle. "You saw what he can do and we see the same in training every day.

"He's got a lot of talent. His physicality is there and technically he is fantastic. He's got a lot of pace and it's just about channelling it.

"On top of that, he's a great lad who works hard every day. I'm very pleased for him and hopefully he can have a few more days like Saturday and grow into what we all think he can be."

Aarons has made three appearances for Newcastle this season.
