Gael Bigirimana has insisted that his Newcastle United career might not be over.
Reports had suggested that following a campaign in which he made just one appearance in all competitions, the 20-year-old would be moved out of St James' Park.
However, Bigirimana is keen to show that he has benefited from that experience.
"Whatever happened last season, happened for a reason. That reason put me in a position where I had to think for myself," the Evening Chronicle quotes the midfielder as saying.
"I cleared my mind and worked out what I needed to do to get in the team. I'm ready for that and I can't wait to start. I can't wait."
Bigirimana joined the Magpies from Coventry City in 2012.
