Sepp Blatter to stand for re-election as FIFA president

Sepp Blatter reveals that he will stand for re-election as FIFA president.

Sepp Blatter has revealed that he will stand for re-election as FIFA president in 2015.

The 78-year-old is currently serving his fourth term as the head of world football's governing body after coming into power in 1998.

UEFA president Michel Platini recently confirmed that he would not be standing for FIFA president, despite claiming that the organisation needs "a breath of fresh air".

Talking to delegates at the Soccerex Global Convention, Blatter said: "Yes, I will be ready. I will be a candidate. My mission has not finished."

Numerous figures from around the world of football, including UEFA vice president David Gill, have criticised Blatter's tenure as FIFA president amid claims of persistent corruption.
