Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has said that an announcement on David Beckham's bid to own a club in Miami will be made in the next month.
The former England captain wants to purchase a franchise in the city, expanding the league to 20 sides.
Speaking at the MLS's annual Draft, Garber said: "I was down there this past weekend and I have been down there a lot, working with potential ownership and trying to finalise a stadium plan.
"Right now, we have got a lot of work to do and we will announce something in early February."
It was reported before Christmas that the 38-year-old, who won two MLS Cups during his time at Los Angeles Galaxy, plans to call his club Miami Beckham United.
