Sepp Blatter: 'No change to 2022 host'

FIFA president Sepp Blatter reiterates that Qatar will remain hosts for the 2022 World Cup, with 32 teams taking part.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has reiterated that there will be no change of host nation for the 2022 World Cup.

There have been calls for the tournament to be moved over concerns about the bidding process that saw Qatar chosen to host the event, as well as conditions for construction workers building the new facilities.

However, the 78-year-old confirmed at a press conference that the event will not be moved, before insisting that any nation outside of Asia will be considered for the 2026 tournament.

Blatter, who was re-elected yesterday, also confirmed that the tournament in Qatar will remain a 32-team event, with no changes to the regional spots.
