Manager Michael O'Neill dismisses a remark made by Russia manager Fabio Capello that suggested Capello believes his side will easily beat Northern Ireland on Friday.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill has played down a jibe made towards his side by Russia manager Fabio Capello.

Capello hinted that he was taking Northern Ireland lightly by telling reporters: "We only have two forwards, but it is only Northern Ireland."

However, O'Neill was quick to dismiss the remark and hoped that his side would soon change the opinion of the former England manager.

O'Neill said: "I don't dwell on those things. Managers will have their opinions, but it's our job to change those opinions with the display we put in."

Northern Ireland play Russia on Friday afternoon in the opening match of their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
