Alex Neil proud of Norwich City response in victory

Boss Alex Neil reveals his delight with Norwich City's response to an opening-day defeat following the 3-1 win over Sunderland.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has revealed his pride after watching his side bounce back from an opening-day defeat to beat Sunderland 3-1 at the Stadium of Light.

The Canaries suffered a setback at the hands of Crystal Palace on their return to the Premier League last weekend, but they were comfortable on the way to collecting three points on Saturday afternoon and Neil was quick to praise the response.

"I'm delighted for them. We played really well last week and didn't get what we deserved," the Norwich boss told Sky Sports News. "Questions do get asked about you as a player and as a manager, so to respond as we did was really pleasing.

"We were excellent throughout the game, created good opportunities and could have taken the lead before we scored. Once we got the goal we started to dominate the match and scored three really good goals."

The victory means that Neil has still not suffered defeat away from home since being appointed in January.
