The 19-year-old Northern Ireland Under-21 international will remain with the U's until February 16.
He is yet to make a senior appearance for Norwich, but did earn a new Canaries contract in October after impressing on loan at Luton Town last season.
McGeehan is eligible for the FA Cup and could face Manchester United when Cambridge host the Red Devils on January 23.
