Goalkeeper Richard Wright has left Preston North End just one week into a one-year contract after he revealed he was homesick.
Wright signed at Deepdale after being released from hometown club Ipswich Town at the end of last season, but one week at his new club has already seen him call time on his Preston career.
Wright told Preston's official website: "I have only been away for a few days and I know already I cannot live that far away from my family."
Manager Graham Westley sympathised with Wright's predicament and said: "It takes a brave man to be honest about a situation like this."
The former England goalkeeper has had his contract terminated with immediate effect and is free to join another club.
