Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has insisted that his side have the edge in the battle for this year's Ligue 1 title having won it last season.
Ibrahimovic welcomed the arrival of free-spending Monaco into the top flight, but said that PSG have been a good team for longer and that should see them past the finishing line ahead of their rivals.
"I think Monaco's coming to Ligue 1 is positive," Ligue1.com quotes Ibrahimovic as saying. "They can attract even more big-name players to come to France.
"But we have an advantage: we won the title last season and we've been playing together for a year now. We know each other much better than Monaco, whose squad has been completely overhauled over the summer.
"Nonetheless, it will be an engrossing season, with a lot of huge matches. This is no easy league. I was lucky enough to win it last season, and I hope to do so again this time around."
Ibrahimovic joined PSG last summer from AC Milan and has scored 30 league goals for the Parisian side.
