Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta needs to get a better salary if and when he signs a new contract with the club, according to his agent.
Alessandro Canovi insists that PSG need to show how much they value the Italy international if they want to retain his services beyond his current deal, which runs out in June 2015.
"We're thinking about things," he told Tuttomercatoweb.com. "I don't know what PSG think about it. Thiago won't accept the offer he's received from PSG for the moment.
"The problem isn't a financial one, because if he thought about money, he would have stayed at Inter and not gone to PSG. The problem is to understand how important they consider him to be given that he's among the top three in Europe in his position right now.
"The truth is that we're a long way from an agreement, even if he's happy to have received an offer from PSG, because to receive an offer from PSG is always important."
Motta joined PSG from Inter Milan in January 2012.
