Luuk de Jong bagged a hat-trick as runaway leaders PSV Eindhoven fought off a resilient AZ outfit this evening to record their 10th straight Eredivisie victory.
The hosts came from two goals down to level in Alkmaar before Georginio Wijnaldum and De Jong secured PSV a 4-2 win which takes them 15 points clear of Ajax.
De Jong, who failed to score during a loan spell at Newcastle United last season, put the visitors in front within three minutes with his first goal since he netted a treble against Feyenoord in December.
Jetro Willems crossed for the striker to double PSV's advantage only five minutes later, but AZ showed that they are no pushovers by halting the charge before pulling one back through Markus Henriksen before the break.
The European hopefuls then equalised four minutes into the second half as Steven Berghuis supplied strike partner Robert Muhren for a close-range finish, but their parity lasted less than 10 minutes.
Willems again got down the left to cut a cross back for Wijnaldum to calmly convert into the bottom corner, and De Jong restored PSV's early cushion by completing his hat-trick from Luciano Narsingh's pass.
Philip Cocu's side have not dropped a league point since November and now have the title firmly in their grasp.
