Plans are reportedly being hatched to put Rangers into the Scottish Division One next season.

Rangers could reportedly be playing their football in Scottish Division One next season following their lengthy financial crisis.

The former Scottish Premier League champions are unlikely to be given permission to compete in the top flight as a newco, with an official vote due to take place next month.

It is understood that plans are being carried out to place the Gers into Division One ready for next season, according to BBC Scotland.

Rangers chief executive Charles Green has reformed the club following the HM Revenue and Customs decision to reject the consortium's company voluntary arrangement.
