Rangers will reportedly lose the 8-4 vote to stay in the Scottish Premier League as Aberdeen become the latest club to say no to the stricken outfit.

Rangers will reportedly not be competing in the Scottish Premier League next season after Aberdeen became the latest club to vote against the stricken club's inclusion in the top flight.

The Glasgow-based club, who are being run by Charles Green as a newco, required an 8-4 vote to remain in the elite of Scottish football. However the likes of Inverness, Hearts and Dundee United have already claimed that they will not allow the Gers to compete alongside them next season.

A host of clubs will come together on July 4 to vote on the issue at hand but as it stands Rangers will be dropped from the top division after they fell into administration in February.

The former SPL champions have had a torrid few months with a number of potential buyers falling from the wayside but are now under control of Green, who failed to secure a company voluntary arrangement with HM Revenue and Customs earlier this month.
