Real Madrid defender Nacho insists that his team's "attitude" was not an issue during Wednesday's 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.

Real Madrid defender Nacho has insisted that his team's "attitude" was not an issue during Wednesday's 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.

Los Blancos entered the clash at Wembley off the back of a 2-1 defeat at Girona in La Liga at the weekend.

It proved to be another difficult 90 minutes for the Spanish and European champions, with Tottenham recording all three points courtesy of a double from Dele Alli and a Christian Eriksen effort.

Nacho, however, has insisted that his team will bounce back from what has been a difficult few days.

"Our attitude isn't the problem, that's been very strong," Nacho told beIN SPORTS. "It's possible that we were too relaxed in our defeat to Girona, but that wasn't the case today – conceding three goals was a different issue.

"We can only rectify this situation with more hard work, we are Real Madrid and have a great squad but have to show it.

"Did the defensive changes exposes us? No not at all, in fact it was the opposite. The problem for us was the goals arrived at stages when we were doing quite well and that really damaged us."

Next up for Real Madrid is a home game against Las Palmas in La Liga on Sunday night.
