Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has admitted that his team were made to pay for missed chances in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Barcelona in El Clasico.
The visitors levelled the scores through Cristiano Ronaldo after 31 minutes and had a couple of excellent opportunities to enter the interval with the lead.
However, it was Barcelona that scored the game's decisive third goal, with Luis Suarez striking after 56 minutes.
"We know the pace this game requires and we saw a great Madrid," Ramos told Canal Plus.
"We were great in our approach thanks to our coach, but we lacked that bit of luck which we've had in other games.
"We were great going forward, but it's true that in the second [half] Barca had more control. We regret not finishing the game off, but we're not screwed just yet. They're [only] four points ahead and we'll keep fighting."
Real Madrid return to league action at home to Granada after the international break.
