Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has insisted that his team are still 'the best in the world' despite Barcelona's recent success.
Los Blancos will enter Saturday's El Clasico 10 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona, who are closing on a third Spanish title in the last four seasons.
Ramos, however, has said that 32-time La Liga winners Real Madrid remain the biggest club in the world.
"These type of games have always been very special, especially given what they involve and the media reaction they have," Ramos told Bwin.
"At the end of the day, we're the best team in the world playing against another team who in recent years have also been the best in nearly every competition. This rivalry has intensified and in the Clasico you notice it even more."
Real Madrid have only won Spain's top division once since 2008.
