Result: Aldershot Town 2-0 Burton Albion

Quickfire goals from Jermaine McGlashan and Luke Guttridge give Aldershot a 2-0 victory over Burton Albion.

Two goals in six first-half minutes earned Aldershot a 2-0 victory over Burton Albion at the Recreation Ground tonight.

The home side dominated the opening stages but struggled to test Burton keeper Ross Atkins until a quickfire double just before half time.

Jermaine McGlashan gave the Shots the lead after 38 minutes, heading home from Adam Smith's inswinging cross to score his third goal of the season.

Journeyman midfielder Luke Guttridge then doubled the home side's advantage just six minutes later, volleying in from Darren Moore's clearing header.

Aldershot next travel to Rotherham on Saturday while Burton host Macclesfield at the Pirelli Stadium.
