Unai Emery explains Vitolo change

Sevilla boss Unai Emery reveals his reason for substituting Vitolo during Sunday's La Liga clash against Celta Vigo.

Sevilla boss Unai Emery has revealed that winger Vitolo was not fully fit entering Sunday's La Liga clash at home to Celta Vigo.

The Europa League winners fell 2-0 behind inside the opening 26 minutes at the Estadio Ramon and four minutes later, Emery made the surprise decision to withdraw Vitolo.

The change brought groans from the home supporters, but the Sevilla boss has said that Vitolo was struggling ahead of the match, which the home side went on to lose 2-1.

"Vitolo wouldn't have started if we had other wingers available," Emery told reporters.

Vitolo's performances for Sevilla last season earned him three Spain caps.
