Adkins: 'We need results'

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins says that all of his side's good performances need to turn into victories in the Premier League.

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins believes that his side need to focus on snatching three points against West Ham United this weekend.

The Saints, who were promoted to the top flight from the Championship last season, have only managed to secure one win out of seven games, despite a number of impressive performances.

"It's a fine line, because if we want to stay in the Barclays Premier League then we've got to win games of football but we can't sacrifice the principles and the vision we've got here," Sky Sports News quotes Adkins as saying.

"The international break has been a good opportunity to have a week to reflect and look back on what we've done so we can reconfirm what we want to do in the future and make sure we're on track with that."

Southampton currently sit just one point above the drop zone in the league table.
