Southampton full-back Ryan Bertrand has talked up the performances and contribution of teammate Nathaniel Clyne.
Both defenders enjoyed impressive seasons at St Mary's last campaign, and have now been given the chance to potentially gain more playing time for England in their coming fixtures against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia.
"He has been fantastic for us this season," said Bertrand, according to BT Sport.
"As a player, it is brilliant and fills you with confidence if you see your fellow full-back marauding down the right side. That makes you want to go marauding down the left side.
"We spur each other on. If he gets a cross in, I want to get a cross in. If he is blocking crosses, I need to be blocking crosses too. We need to be working together in that sense."
Ronald Koeman's Saints side finished in seventh position in the Premier League last season with 60 points.
