Southampton coach Mauricio Pochettino refuses to set a points target for his side this season.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has refused to set a points target for his side this season as they bid for Premier League survival.

The Saints, who host fellow strugglers Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, are currently three points above the relegation zone.

Despite QPR counterpart Harry Redknapp's recent claim that 37 points should be enough to stay up, Pochettino is making no such predictions.

"We haven't set ourselves a certain amount of points," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We have just set out to win every single match and then at the end of the season we will look at how far close we came to achieving the ambitions we have."

Pochettino has taken five points from his first five games in charge of Southampton following his appointment last month.
