Gareth Bale is reportedly winning the race to be fit in time for Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League clash with West Ham United next weekend.
The 31-year-old returned to Spurs from Real Madrid on an initial season-long loan deal last month, seven years after leaving the club in a then-record transfer.
However, Bale has yet to feature for the North London outfit due to a minor knee injury and a lack of fitness, which forced him to withdraw from Wales's most recent squad.
According to The Telegraph, the forward has made good progress over the past week and is in contention to make his second debut for Tottenham against West Ham a week tomorrow.
Tottenham have made a positive start to the season in Bale's absence, winning six of their first eight games in all competitions.
