Mauricio Pochettino plans talks with FA over Harry Kane 'fatigue' concerns

Mauricio Pochettino insists that Tottenham Hotspur want only what is best for Harry Kane when it comes to his future commitments for club and country.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he plans to hold talks with the Football Association over the development of striker Harry Kane.

The 21-year-old has been in inspired form for Spurs this campaign, which led to a call-up to the England squad this week for games against Lithuania and Italy.

Kane continued his hot scoring streak by finding the net soon after being introduced for his Three Lions debut, although he is expected to join up with the Under-21s side for this summer's Euro 2015 tournament in the Czech Republic.

Pochettino admitted that seeing Kane make a breakthrough on the international stage can only be a good thing for Spurs, but there remain concerns over potential fatigue kicking in due to a lack of rest during the off-season.

"I think it's a very good thing for him. It's all happened very quickly for him," the former Southampton boss told reporters.

Asked whether Kane will take part in the club's trip to Australia this summer prior to the Euros, Pochettino added: "I think we have eight very important games and we have time to speak about a lot of things that happen in the future. Harry is our player and I decide he is in the squad to travel to Sydney.

"It's our decision but I think we have time to speak in the future about the European competition. We are always available and want to help the national team. The player - and in this case we have a very good relationship - I think we need to share the decision.

"It's a thing to discuss with the FA, but always we try to find the best for the player and the national team and it's logical for Tottenham."

Kane has scored 30 goals in 45 appearances for club and country this season.
