Mauricio Pochettino "open to adding some players" to Tottenham Hotspur squad

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino intends to add to his squad before the transfer window closes if the right player becomes available.

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he is actively seeking new recruits in the remaining week of the January transfer window, but admits that it is "difficult" finding the right type of player to join Tottenham Hotspur.

The Lilywhites, much like in the summer, will leave any business until the final throes as they have yet to make their move with six days to go.

A number of names have been linked with the North Londoners, including Malcom and Lucas Moura of Bordeaux and Paris Saint-Germain respectively, though Pochettino is unwilling to discuss any individual targets.

"There is no news. There are a lot of rumours, different names," he told reporters at his weekly presser. "This transfer window is difficult because it's only three-and-a-half months left of competition. It's so difficult to add players now; quality players who can help us to try to win games and achieve all we want.

"If you want players who arrive to the Premier League, you need to know and to be sure if you are going to invest big money. All the players need time to adapt for themselves, in a new league or when you change the club and you play in a different philosophy.

"Sometimes you believe it's going to help, and sometimes you are going to create a problem - that is why the transfer window now is so difficult. We are always open and I'm so open to adding some players."

Tottenham have been busier in terms of outgoing activity, meanwhile, offloading four players - most notably Georges-Kevin N'Koudou - on loan.
