Rafael van der Vaart: 'Tottenham Hotspur should sign Hakim Ziyech'

Rafael van der Vaart claims that Tottenham Hotspur should prioritise the signing of Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech next summer.

Former midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has said that Tottenham Hotspur should attempt to sign Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech.

Despite impressing during Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-finals last season, Ziyech failed to secure a move to a top European club during the summer.

However, Van der Vaart feels that the Moroccan would be well suited to representing Spurs in the future.

The Dutchman told Voetbal Primeur: "I really hope he goes to Tottenham Hotspur, I sent a message today to [Daniel] Levy, I said: Get Ziyech after this season.

"I am convinced that he becomes a sensation in London, and I also wish him that."

Ziyech has contributed six goals and six assists from 13 outings in the Eredivisie and Champions League during the current campaign.
