Ryan Giggs: 'No approach from Swansea City'

Ryan Giggs claims that he has not received an approach from Swansea City following reports that the club are considering replacing Francesco Guidolin with the Welshman.

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has claimed that he has not received an approach from Swansea City amid reports that the club are considering him as a potential replacement for Francesco Guidolin.

The Italian coach has been under scrutiny of late having recorded three defeats and one draw in the Premier League since the team's opening-day victory over Burnley.

Reports emerged claiming that Giggs, who left his role as assistant manager at United in the summer, is at the top of Swansea's wishlist should the club opt to sack Guidolin.

Giggs worked as assistant to David Moyes and later Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, but opted to venture out on his own when Jose Mourinho appointed Rui Faria as his number two.

Today, the former Wales international told talkSPORT that he has not been contacted by the Swans and has no plans to jump straight into management.

"There has been no approach from Swansea City but, in any case, there is a manager in place at the club," Giggs told the radio station. "I'm happy with life outside of the game right now and enjoying media work.

"At some stage, further down the line, it's no secret I'd like to get back into football as a coach, but that's for later, not now."

Giggs won 35 trophies in a 24-year playing career at United.
