Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has insisted that he will not take any risks with Ashley Williams, as the defender continues to struggle with an ankle injury.
The 29-year-old has not played since the Swans' victory over Crystal Palace last month and will miss this weekend's match against Sunderland.
Laudrup has said that Williams will need to be at full fitness before he is brought back into the team.
"If we are not careful it could become a chronic problem with him. He has not been 100% and that's not good for a player to carry on playing because there are always doubts," Clubcall.com quotes Laudrup as saying.
"And you could go on for months always playing at 85% and we don't want that so it's better to wait.
"We wanted him back for this game against Sunderland but it is more important to get him back 100% so he is comfortable when he is playing."
Williams has made 10 appearances for Swansea this season.
