Liverpool have reportedly revived their interest in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov this month.

Reports suggested that Liverpool were keeping tabs on the player during the summer, when the club required an overhaul in midfield, following the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

After starting the season very short on numbers, Jurgen Klopp was eventually able to welcome the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo to the club to fill the gaps in the squad.

Alexis Mac Allister was an earlier arrival, but along with Szoboszlai, the two have had injury issues for parts of the season so far.

Manchester United have reportedly explored the opportunity of signing Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel this month.

After striking a deal with Cameroon that allowed Andre Onana to feature for the club even after the start of the Africa Cup of Nations, Erik ten Hag will now likely be without his first-choice goalkeeper for the next few weeks.

Following his ยฃ47m move from Inter Milan over the summer, Onana has been a major talking point given his indifferent start to life at the club.

Costly mistakes, most notably away to Galatasaray, were one of the reasons attributed by many pundits as to why United fell at the first hurdle in the Champions League earlier this season.

Arsenal have reportedly been running the rule over 18-year-old Angers playmaker Jean-Matteo Bahoya.

The Scoistes academy product - who has been on the books at Angers since 2014 - broke into the Angers first team in the 2022-23 season, making 10 Ligue 1 appearances before his side's demotion to the second tier.

Bahoya has made a name for himself in Ligue 2 this term, coming up with five goals and two assists from 19 second-tier matches, despite only making the first XI on six occasions.

The 2005-born attacker is most comfortable in the number 10 position, but he has also been deployed as a left-winger and centre-forward for Angers this season, banking six of his seven direct contributions as a substitute.

Liverpool 'still keeping tabs on Levi Colwill'

Chelsea's Levi Colwill celebrates after the match on August 25, 2023
    © Reuters

Liverpool reportedly retain an interest in signing Chelsea defender Levi Colwill after trying and failing to lure him to Anfield last summer.

The 20-year-old was hot property following a successful loan spell with Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022-23, and his stock also rose thanks to England's Under-21 Euros triumph in the summer.

Colwill played five of England's six games in the tournament, in which Lee Carsley's men conquered the continent without conceding a single goal, and Liverpool were supposedly pushing to bring him to Anfield.

However, having been promised by Mauricio Pochettino that he would slot straight into his system, Colwill committed his future to Chelsea by signing a new long-term deal until 2029 with the option of a further 12 months.

Mikel Arteta responds to Emile Smith Rowe West Ham speculation

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has insisted that Emile Smith Rowe is "settled" in North London amid reports that West Ham United have been in contact over a January move.

After a breakthrough 2021-22 season in the Arsenal first team, where he came up with 10 Premier League goals in 33 matches, Smith Rowe has been demoted to a bit-part player under Arteta.

Injuries have severely harmed the 23-year-old's development, as he was restricted to just 14 appearances last season due to a groin operation and also spent a month out with a knee injury between November and December 2023.

When fully fit, though, Smith Rowe has still struggled to get a look-in over the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, playing just 12 times this season and setting up one goal for Eddie Nketiah in October's 5-0 thrashing of Sheffield United.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ivan Perisic has re-signed for Hajduk Split on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 34-year-old came through the youth system of the Croatian club between 1995 and 2006, but he failed to make a single first-team appearance before embarking on a well-travelled European career.

Perisic turned out for Sochaux, KSV Roeselare, Club Brugge, Inter Milan, Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan before joining Spurs on a free transfer in 2022, where he was a fundamental player in Antonio Conte's system.

Perisic provided 12 assists for his teammates in the 2022-23 season - more than any other Tottenham player - and also began the 2023-24 season in strong fashion with two assists from his first six games under Ange Postecoglou.

Sporting director Joe Savage added: "It's a big boost to get Alan's future sorted. He's a popular player in the dressing room and with the coaching staff, so for him to commit his future to Hearts is very positive.

"I have to give a big thanks to Alan's agent, Liam O'Donnell, for his assistance in getting the deal done.

"There are, of course, a few players approaching the end of their contracts and we're currently in discussions with them about extending. I'd like to think we'll have some more positive news on that front soon."

Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier during the January transfer window.

Earlier this month, head coach Thomas Tuchel publicly revealed that he is keen to recruit a new right-back before the window slams shut in Germany on February 1.

"We are looking for a right-back who is strong in duels. We'll see if something is possible," Tuchel told reporters.

"[Noussair] Mazraoui is at the Africa Cup (of Nations with Morocco), but we have also gotten used to Konrad Laimer at right-back, even though it's not his best position. If there's an opportunity on the market, we'll take it. Otherwise things will stay this way."

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly contemplating whether to try to cash in on forward Goncalo Ramos.

On the back of a 27-goal season for Benfica, PSG moved to sign Ramos on a season-long loan with the obligation to buy for ยฃ69m that was soon confirmed months later.

While the expectation was that the Portugal international would transfer his form to Ligue 1, he has contributed just four goals and one assist from 19 appearances in all competitions.

According to L'Equipe, head coach Luis Enrique now has doubts over whether he wants to keep the 22-year-old in the long term.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is reportedly expected to again be targeted by the Saudi Pro League in the summer.

During the closing days of the 2023 equivalent, Al Ittihad were prepared to pay in excess of ยฃ150m to secure the signature of the Egypt international.

From the outset, Liverpool firmly made it clear that they would not consider a sale at that point, and circumstances have since changed regarding a potential move.

Unlike in the summer when Liverpool were in a transitional period and had no Champions League on offer, Jurgen Klopp's side now sit at the top of the Premier League table.

Hibs bring in Myziane Maolida on loan from Hertha Berlin

"Myziane is a very talented young player who has undoubted potential to play at the very highest level," said manager Nick Montgomery.

"For us to have the chance to sign a player of this calibre in January is an opportunity we worked hard to make happen, and we're grateful to Hertha Berlin for agreeing to facilitate this loan.

"At 24 he has already moved to some big clubs but has found himself not playing regularly. He's now hungry to get his career back on track. After numerous video calls, it was clear both parties really wanted to make this happen.

"Myziane can play centrally and wide, which is really important as we have been light in attacking options. I'm sure the supporters will be excited to see him in Hibs green and white for the rest of the season, and we will continue to search the market for additional signings."

Manchester United will reportedly consider offers for each of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof during the summer transfer window.

The Premier League giants have been going through a period of uncertainty courtesy of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's efforts to acquire a 25% of the club, giving him control of footballing operations.

While that has been confirmed by the Red Devils, it is yet to be made official with the governing bodies, adding an extra complication for January's transfer business.

Nevertheless, a rebuild of some capacity is expected to take place in the summer with United having greater opportunities to cash in on unwanted players and reduce their wage bill.
