Udinese have confirmed that they are to take guardianship of Piermario Morosini's disabled sister.
The 25-year-old died on Saturday after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Livorno. The midfielder was on loan at the Serie B side from Udinese.
It is believed that he supported his sister with his earnings from professional football after their parents died over seven years ago. His disabled brother also committed suicide.
However, the Serie A club have now taken on the responsibility of caring for Morosini's sibling.
Thousands of fans gathered outside of Livorno's stadium on Sunday to pay their respects to the player.
