Fiorentina have agreed a £5.5m fee with Villarreal for the transfer of former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Borja Valero.
The 27-year-old follows Diego Lopez, Nilmar, Marco Ruben and Jonathan De Guzman out of the door at El Madrigal following their relegation from La Liga last season.
"Pending the usual medical and signing of contract, Villarreal and Fiorentina have agreed in principle to the transfer of midfielder Borja Valero, who will play next season at the Italian club," said a statement on the club's website.
"The Madrid native will shortly travel to the Tuscan capital to undergo the required tests and complete the transfer."
Valero joined Villarreal from the Baggies on a permanent basis in 2011.
