Joel Campbell's goal was enough to earn Costa Rica a 1-0 win over Wales in the Gary Speed memorial match at the Cardiff City Stadium.
There were emotional scenes before the game as all those in attendance held a minute's applause for the former Wales manager.
The home side, captained by Craig Bellamy on his last appearance for his country, were led out by Speed's sons Ed and Tom in the Welsh capital.
The only goal of the game came after seven minutes when Campbell fired a low shot into the bottom corner from 12 yards.
