Steve Clarke: 'We'll be fine without Peter Odemwingie'

Clarke tips Lukaku to replace Odemwingie

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clark believes that Peter Odemwingie's suspension provides an opportunity for other strikers to impress him.

Steve Clarke has insisted that West Bromwich Albion will cope with the absence of suspended striker Peter Odemwingie.

The Nigerian's red card during last weekend's defeat to Fulham will create opportunities for Romelu Lukaku and other members of the Baggies squad, according to Clarke.

"[Lukaku] could come into the picture," he said in the Express & Star. "He's been in my thoughts since the minute he came into the club.

"But I've said before that I've been delighted with Shane Long and the decision to take him off at Fulham was purely tactical.

"Peter is out for three games and I'll concentrate on those we have available. I will decide on the best team to play against Reading."

Markus Rosenberg could also be in line to start against Reading on Saturday.
